Dutch fashion designer nominated for Woolmark Prize

The fashion designer Evana Kuik from Rotterdam, has been announced as one the two Dutch nominated designers for the Woolmart Price 2016. She, along with the second Dutch nominee Peet Dulleart, will be competing against 73 other contestants from Europe.

The Woolmart Company had announced all the European nominees on April 5th, who will all be competing for the International Woolmart Prize 2016/2017. It’s worldly known to be one of the biggest awards within the fashion industry.

As one of the nominees, Evana will have to compete for the European title on June 28th. For the competition, every contestant is assigned to create a collection of a total of six fashion clothing and present them in front of a jury. Each design is expected to have merino wool as the main subject. A total of six designer specialized in either menswear of womenswear will be selected, and will continue to take part in the race for the international title next year.

The Rotterdam based fashion designer Evana Kuik started her own label of menswear in 2014, named Evan Menswear. Her designs are both viewable and for sale six days a week at the INCONCEPT store in Coolsingel 81, located in the center of Rotterdam.
